The officers and contributors for the non-profit organization Texans Cookin' For The Cure are feeling very proud and happy. This year Down Home Cookin' is being very well received. It is the largest cookbook to date, containing 250 recipes. This means that we are growing thus enabling us to reach and include more people.

In 2007 we were bronze level sponors for both the Harrison County Relay for Life and the Kilgore Relay for Life. We are proud to say that this year we are silver level sponsors for the Harrison County Relay. The 2008 Harrison County Relay for Life will be held in Marshall, Texas at Maverick Stadium. Change is always difficult so we hope that everyone remains involed and hopefully grow as new people join this very worthy cause.

We want to say thank you to everyone that submitted a recipe and or purchased an ad in Down Home Cookin' . Thanks to all that help in various ways to make this project a reality. A special thanks to our loving daughter, Michele Walker, for founding the non-profit organization, Texans Cookin' For The Cure. Michele also works very hard as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.  We wish to thank Anne Schultz, Christi Goldston, Diana Wilson, Leah Propes, Jackie Martin and Linda James just to name a few. We could go on and on with the list of volunteers for the organization and the ACS, but space does not allow us to do so. We must acknowledge Nancy Walker, as she is undoubtedly the hardest worker when it comes to collecting recipes for the cookbooks and distribution. Also, a special thanks to Cara Cline for being both a contributor and distributor of our cookbooks. We do have some copies of Chili, Soup, Stew & Cornbread remaining for sale. They are $10.00 each plus S&H. This cookbook contains 150 wonderful recipes.
